Wedding season is in full swing- and late summer/fall weddings are my favorite! This past weekend we attended the wedding of one of our best couple friends. And based on the amount of compliments I received, I totally nailed it on the outfit- so, I wanted to pass on the details for any of you that may be shopping for a dress to wear to a wedding this fall!
Before I tell you why I love this dress, let’s back up a little: I had a dress for this wedding, since like the beginning of summer (which never happens- I’m always a last minute shopper). I decided last week that I needed to hit the mall for something to dress it up a bit. Charming Charlie’s is one of my faves for inexpensive jewelry and I found a cute necklace that matched my dress.
Then, because it was pay day and I had a coupon, I decided to pop into Express and see what they had in for fall. And that’s when I found this beautiful berry colored lace sheath dress! I didn’t really need a new dress, but when you find one you love, why not? Especially when it’s the perfect color for this time of year! I have a such a hard time finding dresses I like that fit my long torso, so I didn’t even think twice.
Anyway, this dress was a huge win. It comes in 4 different colors- white, blush, wine (what I’m wearing) and black- they all have a nude built-in slip. It’s short but the overlay gives it the illusion of being longer- which means you can actually move around in it. It’s flattering without being skin tight. And it’s actually really comfortable.
I got a ton of compliments. I stayed reasonably cool during the 90-degree outdoor ceremony. I was able to actually eat dinner and didn’t have to suck in the whole time I was out on the dance floor. Win, win, win, win. Definitely a good purchase! Here are the deets:
